What we collect
- Contact form. If you use the form on our contact page, we receive what you enter: your name, email address, organization, the topic you select, and your message. Until the form is connected to a mailbox, submissions stay in your own browser and are sent only if you choose the prefilled email option.
- Email. If you email us, we retain the correspondence for as long as the conversation, and any engagement that follows, remains active.
- Technical data. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes IP addresses and request logs to serve and protect the site. We do not run analytics or advertising trackers on this site, and we set no cookies of our own.
- Fonts. The typefaces on this site are served by Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser requests them from Google, which receives your IP address in the process.
Why we use it
To respond to you, to prepare for and deliver engagements you ask us about, to consider your application when you apply for a role, and to keep the site secure. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Where it is kept
Email and documents are held on business productivity services with servers in Canada or the United States. When an engagement involves your organization’s data, residency is agreed in writing before any data moves; that agreement governs rather than this notice.
How long
Inquiries that do not lead to an engagement are deleted within 24 months. Engagement records are kept for the term of the agreement and for the period our professional and tax obligations require afterwards. Job applications are kept for 12 months unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
Your rights
Under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and, for Quebec residents, the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25), you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, withdraw consent, or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@loonwise.ca; we respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Quebec, the Commission d’accès à l’information.
Changes
When this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted here for 30 days.
: We added “Fonts” under “What we collect”. It names Google Fonts, which serves the typefaces on this site and receives your IP address when a page loads.
