Come solve the problems that matter.

At Loonwise you will work alongside people who have shipped before, on the critical systems Canadian organizations depend on, with AI in the workflow and remote work across Canada. We hire people committed to excellence, who have delivered impactful work and want to keep delivering it.

Life at Loonwise

Small teams, real responsibility.

You will work in a team of four to six senior colleagues on one client challenge at a time, with the authority to make decisions and the expectation that you will explain them.

  • Senior colleagues on every team; the median engineer has more than ten years of delivery experience

  • Forward-deployed work: you build inside the client’s environment, alongside the people who will own the system

  • Ownership of a product area end to end: discovery, design, build, release, and support afterward

  • AI-native tooling—coding agents, evaluation frameworks, automated QA—with people accountable for everything that ships

  • Remote across Canada, with Toronto and Montréal as the places we gather

  • Bilingual by design: English and French are both working languages

Our roles

Current opportunities.

Roles indicate demand rather than salary bands; compensation is discussed in the first conversation, in specific numbers.

  • Senior AI Engineer

You will build retrieval, evaluation, and agent systems that reach production. You have shipped LLM features to real users and can explain why they worked.

Interviewing

Four conversations over two weeks.

  1. Conversation

Thirty minutes with the studio lead about what you have delivered and what you want to work on next.

  2. Technical session

Real work from a real engagement—a design review or a debugging session, not a whiteboard puzzle.

  3. Team session

Meet the people you would work with. They have a vote.

  4. Offer

A number, a start date, and the name of the engagement you would join first.
